We are working with a client that is looking to fill a position on a high profile project in asia:
The candidate should have the
following:
Degree in Engineering,
Professionally Qualified and 15 years of experience in construction supervision
and contract management, the necessary RE skills, preferably has worked in Sri
Lanka, is prepared to be located in a difficult, isolated location and is
capable of handling difficult assignments/ clients and contractor. Ability to
use excel and word and oversee/manage monthly invoicing and tracking.
They will be expected to carry out the following:
- As Engineer’s Representative discharge the duties in the
administration of the civil works contracts and supervision of construction in
accordance with design, contract agreement and specifications. - Support the overall management of the project program and the
consultant’s team - Put in place appropriate management and internal quality control
and assurance procedures for the project and implementation of the same - Carry out all tasks defined in the ToR, including the following:
(a) Provide comprehensive day-today
contract supervision of all works in accordance with FIDIC conditions of
contract;
(b) Conduct technical audits of all engineering designs;
(c) Check and inspect all works in
accordance with technical design standards, as-built drawings, materials
quantities and measurements, finish quality etc, and provide Engineer’s
approval of completed sections (including issue of Completion Certificates);
(d) Issue site instructions and prepare
variation orders, provisional sum orders, and work orders as appropriate;
(e) Evaluate and approve all claims for
additional payments and contract extensions, and provide support to the client
should any contract disputes arise;
(f) Co-ordinate
with various utility agencies to ensure appropriate planning for diversions of
services;
(g) Design a Project Performance
Management System (PPMS) in-line with RDA and ADB requirements;
(h) Monitor implementation of the PPMS
through use of project progress and development-impact indicators; and
(i) Supervise implementation of the
Environmental Management Plan and Land Acquisition & Resettlement
activities, preparing necessary monitoring reports.
